Tom was a devoted husband, loving father and Grandpa, faithful friend, proud U.S. Navy veteran, and respected banker who retired as an Executive Vice President after more than 50 years in banking. Though accomplished professionally, those who knew him best will remember his servant’s heart far more than his titles.
Tom quietly cared for the hurting, the overlooked, and the needy. He especially carried a burden for those who did not yet know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He often wept and prayed for the lost. His life reflected a legacy of faith and compassion.
Known for his dry humor and practical wisdom, one of his favorite sayings was, “Buy Low, Sell High.” But Tom’s true investment was always people.
His life reflected Micah 6:8 — to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
Tom’s family rejoices knowing he is now home with the Savior he faithfully served, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for June 6th, which would have been Mom and Dad’s 62nd wedding anniversary. Service at 11:00 AM, with luncheon immediately following in the Fellowship Hall at Riverwood Community Church @ 12000 Clinton River Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48313.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Marion; his son, Mark; and his brother, Ron Gammon.
He is survived by his children: William Gammon, Jeffrey Gammon (Bethany), Rodney Gammon, Janelle Shih (Ray), and Brian Gammon (Paige); and by his cherished grandchildren: David, Amy, Sophia, Brandon, Camryn, Katherine, and Joshua.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2Timothy 4:7
